THE LADDER SUMMIT: 2012
Here is the flyer I put together for The Ladder Summit this June 1, 2012. There will be some Amazing guest speakers, Q& A, Hot Seats, Networking, food! What more could you ask for! Just what the speakers will be sharing is worth way more than the price of admission.
I always look at events like this…If I learn 1 thing, just 1 thing, that I can take away that will impact my business, than the Event is FREE. That’s right, FREE! I look at events as an “investment” in my business, not as an expense. That’s where business owners usually get themselves all caught up. They look at events, as well as training, coaching, and education, just as expenses. It’s a perspective thing, really…They see it as either a time expense or a money expense and not as a viable necessity to a worthy portfolio, which yields ROI better than anything else in there. As the great Jim Rohn said, “Work harder on yourself, than you do your job!”
The Ladder Summit will be quite an event with you or without you! But if I were you, I wouldn’t miss it! If you like this, have a question or comment, please leave it below. Also, to register for The Ladder Summit, visit: www.LadderSummit.com
Ad Deconstruction – Lessons in Marketing
May 3, 2012

This is pretty cool…I belong to a few business networking groups on Facebook and in one of them, someone posted that they needed help with one of their ads. I was going to give my feedback there, but I thought that it would be easier to understand in a video. I also thought that more people would be able to learn from this, as well. I hope this helps. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below and if you liked it, I hope you’ll pay it forward and share it with some of your friends that could benefit from it too! Thanks ~Joe
The Keys To Life: Running & Reading By Will Smith
May 3, 2012

I love this video by Will Smith, where he says that the Keys To Life are Running and Reading. So true. When I ran my first marathon, there were so many life lessons I learned from that experience. It pushes the physical to its limits, and “trains your mind to take over.” You want to stop. You want to quit. But you don’t. You keep going…And that’s so true in life. Whatever challenges you are facing, you need to keep going. They are not problems. They are challenges that you can overcome.
With so much information out there, it’s just a matter of how much you really want to learn something. Between a library card, Google, and YouTube…you can learn anything from the most successful people in the world. It’s up to you.
Small Business Owners: Beware
May 2, 2012

The big topic that just never goes away is customer acquisition, or as we say in the sophisticated world of marketing…”NEW CUSTOMER-GETTING”.
New Customer-Getting techniques are getting way out of hand these days. Basically, it’s because there are so many opportunities for newbies to get in to the business by being a salesman (or woman, can’t forget the ladies).
With the combination of the latest “Flavor-of-the-second technology”, salespeople that don’t know anything about marketing, AND business owners who are looking for SOMETHING/ANYTHING that will bring new customers in…things can get ugly.
The Opportunity for these types of people to take advantage of the rise of new technology and “eager” entrepreneurs is down-right wrong.
I’ve witnessed first-hand, a so-called SEO Guru (Search Engine Optimization) trying to get one over on a very good friend of mine.
I was in her office when the phone call came in, so she put me on as her “business partner”. Although, it was a lot of fun to hear the complete non-sense that came out of this guy’s head, I also felt sad and a bit angry. (yes, angry! I know you just can’t imagine it, right?)
Maybe I saved my friend from buying in to any of it (not that she would anyway…she knows I’d be like…”Whaaaaattttt?!?!?!?!”), but knowing how many other people they will prey on, and succeed in their scam…disgusts me.
People don’t know what they don’t know. It’s happened to me too and it’s not fun, especially when you find out. (that’s another story for another time!)
Throwing away money on scams like that, is never a good thing, whether you’re in a position to or not.
These guys come in all shapes and forms…
Whether it’s SEO, Advertising, Social Media, Mobile, Video, Email, Diner place mats, whatever, etc…No industry is safe. They’re so many things to watch out for…
Here’s a quick tip…
If someone says they’re a SEO Expert, then do this:
Google: “SEO Expert” and see who comes up on Page 1.
If they don’t, ask them, “If you’re really a SEO Expert, shouldn’t you be able to get yourself on Page 1?”
Have a laugh listening to them stumble, then hang up.
I hope you liked this and found it helpful.
Please leave a comments & questions below and share this with your friends.I’d really appreciate it! Thanks! ~Joe

Does Your Business Have A Success Team?

Success Is A Team Sport
It doesn’t matter if you’re a “solo-preneur” or have built a huge company, success is a team sport.
In the beginning we tend to wear so many hats, that we get used to doing everything ourselves. This is good AND bad. Having to do the actual work is good because we really get to know it ins and outs of our business. It’s also great when we have to hire someone to do that job, that we know exactly what to look for and what the job actually entails. When I owned my own Performing Arts School, and had to hire music teachers, it was extremely critical that I had been one myself for years and had the perspective to manage, mentor, and lead my new recruits.
The BAD part about it is that we get used to things getting done a certain way (this is the old, “If you want it done right…ya gotta do it yourself” syndrome). Unfortunately, we can get STUCK here and scalability suffers. You have to be able to step back and let go of tasks in your business that don’t make you money. If money comes in because of something YOU do, then you need to just do that and get someone else to take care of the rest.
Realizing the value of your time was a huge breakthrough for me. Each aspect/task of your business has a time and dollar value. You NEED to know those numbers in order to get a handle of where you are, where you want to go, and how you will realistically get there.
Speaking of numbers…when it comes to bookkeeping, payroll, bank statements, Quickbooks, etc…this is something you should definitely outsource in your business. Whether you hire someone in-house or outsource it, having someone else taking care of that for you will free you up in ways you can’t imagine. Your time, your energy, your creativity all comes back to life when the weight of crunching numbers and organizing spread sheets is out of your way.
And knowing your numbers in your business is so critical, it’s like flying a plane and the gauges don’t work. You would be terrified to fly! (not that you wouldn’t be normally!)
Having a bookkeeper you can trust is key to your Success Team. If this sounds like you, then I highly recommend my good friend Denise Worrell. She owns a bookkeeping company in Medford, New Jersey called “Your Bookkeeper”. They specialize in helping business owners all over the country with all their needs.

We’ve Got You Covered!
Marketing has also shifted from a one-way broadcast to a “multi-point” conversation. In the past, communications were “broadcast” exclusively through mass marketing channels like radio, TV and newspapers. (morse code, carrier pigeon, messenger on horseback…Paul Revere style, you get the picture). With social media, however, much of the communication is controlled by the prospects through services like Facebook and Twitter, which have more than 700 million members combined—and YouTube, which gets 300 million visitors a month.

How To Choose A Domain Name
April 19, 2012
by admin
Choosing Domain Names Strategically Is Important
If you’re creative, (like me) and have no shortage of “brilliant ideas”
…coming up with the domain names and buying them is the easy part. Many people get addicted to buying them and don’t consider how they would actually use them to make money. This video will break down the different types of domains and how you should start thinking about them. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think…also, if you’re a Domain Addict, or know someone who is (maybe it’s a “friend” of yours, then this your chance to to stand up and admit it to the world. (kinda like an intervention…just sayin’). Enjoy!
