New Opener for The Joe Valmonte Show

I started my radio show last week, and I battled with myself for awhile because I had a bunch of ideas for what the show could be and have, but then I thought…
If I wait to have everything just the way I want it, 2 things will happen:
- I won’t have a chance to test anything, try things out and improve and evolve along the way.
- I’d be losing so much time by not starting now at a testing level and see if I even like doing the show.
So, one of the things that I wanted to have was an opener and a closer. I think it sounds more Pro when you have it professionally done, and it gives your production the polish it needs, right from the start.
That’s what I did, I started with a few shows, no intro, no close, and did a few runs.
My first show wasn’t really a show, it was more like a sound check.
My first actual show, I interviewed Dr. Christine Overton. She is The President & CEO of The United International Chamber Of Commerce.
Then, I interviewed Rajeev Sharma from Dynalead. Rajeev is a Rocket Scientist! How cool is that!
What a way to kick off the show! The point here is that I would not be able to have seized these cool opportunities if I had waited for everything to be “perfect”.
Just like I teach…”We can’t sculpt anything, if clay isn’t put on the table first.”
This was a matter of me taking my OWN advice and just get started.
So, with a few shows in the can, I’m still testing and it’s a process that will just evolve over time.
Most importantly, I’ve started and I’m having fun doing it!
Today, I just got my “Opener” files from the production house. What a fantastic job!
(Wait till you hear the “Closer”. Watch the next post…)
Check them both out. Let me know what you think and leave me a comment below. Thanks!
